Although I'm still counting (not dusk yet!!), I thought I'd
submit this report now of what I've seen today in our yard
in West Laurel (PG County). The highlight was yard bird
#105: a first-year female CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER. Overall a
*lot* of variety for us, including a big kettle of
BROAD-WINGED HAWKS (at least 115 individuals), an adult BALD
EAGLE, 3 more warbler species: MAGNOLIA, YELLOW-RUMPED, and
BLACK-AND-WHITE (our first fall warblers in the yard BTW),
and a female ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK. Conspicuously missing
(so far) are Ruby-throated Hummingbird and Hairy Woodpecker.
