Just wanted to reply to Danny re: the ibis: Unfortunately I did not see any ibis - even though I was looking at the river from home at that time. Must have looked away at the wrong moment to do so - rats!

But I can't complain. At about 6:45-6:50, I had an exceptionally great view of a HY peregrine as it flew through our yard, soaring slowly past me and my son at only about 50 feet hi. It came up from the Patuxent (flying west), and sent a flock of cowbirds that were loafing in our paddock shooting off in every direction! To my surprise it did not pursue any of them, and it went into some trees but I did not see it come out.

Re: other birds recently mentioned on Osprey, I also had another ununsual yard bird yesterday - a HY Red-headed Woodpecker flew in at about 6:30 pm. It fed on some acorns for about 10 minutes and then left. Both the PEFA and RHWO were FOY yard birds for me.

Also, we still have several RTHUs feeding at the hummer station.

Cheers!
