?No, nothing about the Blue Spruce, though he does mention differences in ages of White Spruce; "immature cones purple or green, mature cones red-brown, young female cones upright and red-purple, male pollen cones yellowish, mostly below branches in early spring".?



?And you thought confusing fall warblers were hard!

What about differentiating the juvenile plumage of a first year blue spruce from a mature adult specimen? I know that always trips me up in the field ...?
