I found one white-crowned sparrow on the peninsula at Lake Artemisia this morning, mixing with the numerous song sparrows and sighted on both the south and north sides of the peninsula.

You know it's a great day when you see two y.b. sapsuckers in one tree and a scarlet tanager feeding in the adjacent tree. Other good birds were: Nashville warbler, B.T. Blue, Palm, and many Yellow-Rumped warblers. A flock of cedar waxwings, mostly juveniles, were playing flycatcher over the creek, with a red-eyed vireo and yellow-rumps mixing in. Swamp and white-throated sparrows have arrived. Also, both kinglet species. Two pied-billed grebes were the only thing of interest on the water. A beautiful morning.
