I ran over to SWAP for my lunch break today and found two [possible] three Vesper Sparrows in the field on the left side of the driveway that goes to the fishing pier. Three sparrows flushed from the path and two flew to nearby sapling and sat facing away from each other. I could The eye ring was evident on both birds (even on the shadowy side of the face); but the only one had the conspicuous white outer tail feather. I was running out of time and attempted the move and get the sun behind me, when both birds flushed and flew West into a stand of taller trees.
After passing the first view of open water, walk 40 feet North on the first path into the field.
There was also another mystery sparrow that I need to look up. I’ll post details later. I’m out of time again.
