Wow! That sure is an attractive bird! Too bad we don't have a real sparrow species that looks like that (if we did, maybe we could call it a White-headed Sparrow); it's a really cool looking bird.

          On Sunday afternoon 10 - 25 - 09 around 4:00 PM there was a flock
f about 10 Chipping Sparrows feeding in the grass is my mom and Dad's
ackyard next door one bird caught my attention right away it had a snow
hite head . I happened to have my camera around my neck planning to do some
fternoon photography. I got several very distant poor photos of it in the
rass . The flock went up in a maple tree near by where I got one photo showing
ts white head . Then they moved off to the front yard where thru Mom and
op's front door glass and screen I got one close up shot of it as it kindly
erched on the steps between hunting seeds not a show stopper but a nice
nough to record the bird . By this time it was our dinner time . I was
ot able to get any more photos as the light had gotten very bad .
As to describe the bird its head was snow white , Chin white to the
reast which blended to the normal grayish white, Back normal except white
pots
n the center. Outer primaries white ,outer tail feathers were white, feet and
egs were a pinkish hue , Bill was darker but showed a slight pinkish hue
s well . Size and shape matched that of the other Chipping Sparrows,
ightly notched tail , bird also smaller then the two Juncos that appeared
ith the group after they got to the front yard . All and all a very stunning
ird Photos posted on My flickr page www.flickr.com/birder360/
