Kudos to Steve for this invaluable project.  I was actually the one who
posted a few weeks ago about hearing the tapes from my house - it wasn't a
"cranky" thing, I love the sounds of owls at night.  Rather, I just needed
to know that we didn't have Saw-whets here on our property, which is rather
expansive.  We have a few groves of white pines where I have had one (1) a
few years back.  We also have a few resident Eastern Screech Owls and Great
Horned Owls.
