Hi all,

Along Egypt road yesterday morning a Northern Harrier flushed a dense flock of 35 to 40 Killdeer; when the birds settled back in the plowed field, my wife & I could see exactly one Killdeer. The others vanished behind clods of dirt. At one point on the road many American Pipits were on the pavement (total about 50); I almost had to shoo them away to avoid running over them.

At the refuge every Bald Eagle we saw was an adult. Shorebirds near the shortcut from the wildlife drive to Key Wallace Drive were G Yellow-legs 12, L Yellow-legs 5, Black-bellied Plover 4, Dunlin about 185, Long-billed Dowitcher 27. There were few ducks other than Mallards among the Canada Geese.

One Am Kestrel perched on a wire by Maple Dam Rd on our return from Blackwater.
