A few notables came by Fort Smallwood yesterday along with the usual autumn birds. 

Highlights:

Common Loon: 1   First of fall, off of the north shore
Tundra Swan: 35   mid-day flyover
OSPREY: 1  Late bird
Red-headed Woodpecker: 1  juvenile in snags by near loop road by pond
Eastern Towhee: 4
Field Sparrow: 1
Chipping Sparrow: 2
Song Sparrow: 12
Swamp Sparrow: 4
White-throated Sparrow: 50+
Dark-eyed Junco: 30+
