I saw the broadcast and the two fellows in the background. In my not-yet caffeinated state I thought they were news photographers.

Subject: [MDOSPREY] This Just In
Today at 6:45 am, two birders (sp) were spotted at the OC Inlet. Llowell Melzer (WBAL Channel 11) was reporting live from the inlet about the effects of the Nor'easter. In the background, 2 birders were scanning the inlet and ocean, one with a scope and the other with just bins. ID of the birders was not possible. Both were dressed in non-descript fowl weather gear and looked just a tad uncomfortable leaning into the wind. I hope someone has clearer pictures of the birders so they can be ID'ed.
'Tis a shame that Mr. Melzer did not do any live interviews. It would have been a great plug for birding. Plus, a couple of birders would have had their 15 seconds of fame.
