Hi Everyone,

I checked a few flooded fields in Wicomico County this morning (13 Nov 2009) and found more shorebird variety than I would have expected--including BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER.

Nutters Neck Rd (accessed from Cherry Walk Rd near the town of Quantico):

Killdeer--25
Black-bellied Plover--1
Greater Yellowlegs--43
Lesser Yellowlegs--1
Dunlin--25

Fire Tower Rd (accessed from Nanticoke Rd only a few miles from Bus 50 in Salisbury):

Killdeer--15
White-rumped Sandpiper--2 (close to the road in a partially flooded corn stubble field near the "Hidden Entrance" sign
Wilson's Snipe--1

Looking forward to an exciting weekend of bird finding and chasing! Have fun,
