Today (11/21) I visited a few areas in central and western Howard County. In the morning I stopped by Meadowbrook Park. No sign of the Clay-colored Sparrow or any birds near the tennis courts but did have an Eastern Phoebe along the stream in the southeastern section of the park.

Late afternoon there were two White-crowned Sparrows, an adult and immature in a hedgerow on the east side of the entrance road to Woodmont Academy. I also saw a male American Kestrel and heard a Killdeer. This spot is just off Frederick Road about 2 miles west of the Howard County Fairgrounds.

At Western Regional Park I saw 10 Savannah Sparrows and a Fox Sparrow behind fields 10 and 11 in the back area of the park. The Savannah Sparrows were in an area of foxtail grasses and rock outcrops south of the parking lots and the Fox Sparrow was in brush downhill from the parking areas.
