Yesterday (11/21), I was afforded the opportunity to do some birding in
Talbot Co. The areas I checked out included the JEDS Audubon Sanctuary,
Claiborne boat landing, Black Walnut Point, and Pickering Creek Audubon
Center. Many common and expected birds were around, but the most interesting
observation was 3 BROWN PELICAN at Black Walnut Point. Also at the point was
1 immature NORTHERN GANNET and 7 BLACK SCOTER.

Highlights from the other areas included 1 FORSTER'S TERN at Claiborne, 1
FOX SPARROW at JEDS and 1 at Pickering Creek, as well as RED-THROATED LOON
at both JEDS and Pickering Creek. There was also a nice diversity of
waterfowl at Pickering Creek with TUNDRA SWAN, NORTHERN PINTAIL,
GREEN-WINGED TEAL, AMERICAN WIGEON, and NORTHERN SHOVELER, and plenty of
sparrows to be found.

Good birding,

David
