Hi all. I spent the day down at the shore. Ocean City inlet was real busy with bird activity. Hundreds of Loons and Scoters heading South all morning. All 3 Scoter species were viewed, 2 female Common Eiders, 2 Harlequin Ducks one was an adult male and the other a juvenile male, 100 plus Brant, at least 200 Gannets, 1 Adult Iceland Gull heading South ( photographed), 2 Purple Sandpipers and 1 Laughing gull.

Assateague Island and the ORV zone was sort of hum drum. There were hundreds of Gannets, Loons, Scoters, and Yellow rumped Warblers. Only 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Laughing Gull, 1 Dunlin, but about 95 Sanderlings. I did have 4 Tri-colored Herons on the back bay. The Merlin was at his usual place, perched in the dead tree snag near the base of the Verrazano bridge. The tide seamed to be high all day. I think the wind was keeping it in.
Thats the skinny.
Happy Thanksgiving.
