Hi everyone,

Yesterday, Mike and I birded Calvert County. The weather was good and so was the birding. Our top hightlight came when Mike spotted 7 BROWN PELICANS flying north over the Bay, while we were at Calvert Cliffs. Further in the distance, a few Gannets were seen flying around.

Another highlight was a PIED-BILLED GREBE, which looking at the eBird data, seems to be a pretty decent bird in Calvert. We found this bird on a lake off of Lake Shore Drive. There were also 300 Canada Geese and some Mallards. This little lake looks to have potential and hopefully can be checked semi-regularly for waterfowl.
