wut-up!

This morning as I opened my front door to walk to my car and I heard the unmistakable croak of a Common Raven. I quickly looked around for the bird and noticed two corvidae on my neighbor’s lawn about 75 yards away. One of the birds was notably larger than the other. Unfortunately this was around 6:45AM and the pre-dawn light un-aided by optical magnifiers was not conducive to looking for more substantial field marks such as head and bill shape. The bird did take fight but I was only able to see it as it quickly rounded the neighbor's house.

Still, my gut tells me Raven due to the familiar croak which I heard and the relative size of the two birds which I saw on the lawn.

For you North East-area dwellers, keep an eye (and ear) out for this bird.
