Hello all,

Went out on the water for work yesterday and today and there were quite a few birds around. On Monday we traveled from Deal Is. down Tangier Sound to Kedges Straights (just north of Smith Island). Highlights included 5 Brown Pelicans, 6 Northern Gannets, 8 Common Loons, 5 Red-throated Loons, 5 Ruddy Ducks, at least 250 Long-tail Ducks, 200 Surf Scoters, and 200 Bufflehead. Also had a Pileated Woodpecker fly over the road in Dames Quarter.

Today we went up the Wicomico River and saw an adult Bald Eagle perched, 2 Double-crested Cormorants, 4 Common Loons, 2 Great Blue Herons, 1 Great Egret, and 2 Tree Swallows.

Good Birding,

Frank Marenghi
