Hi Everyone,
While driving onto Assateague this morning (16 Dec 2009, 11:30 am) to search for sparrow flocks, I saw an EARED GREBE. The bird was on the island side of the bridge just north of the causeway. I parked at the state park and walked back to take a few digiscopes; I managed to get a couple between the bird's persistent dives. Sam Dyke and Joann Wilber were able to see the grebe soon afterwards.
Also, at least 2 HARLEQUIN DUCKS (including that nice male) and 1 COMMON EIDER continue at the Ocean City Inlet.
Have fun,
