Hi everyone,
I did a bit of research (because there is 100 feet of snow on the ground and what else is there to do) and I found this article:
Common Grackle predation on adult passerines -- from:
The Wilson Bulletin, Vol. 106, No. 1 (Mar., 1994), pp. 174-175 available from SORA here:
http://elibrary.unm.edu/sora/Wilson/v106n01/index.php
In this article the author reports of a very active common grackle predator that over a three week period killed and ate 39 adult passerines including White-throated sparrows, Ovenbirds, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, and House Sparrows. Additionally unsuccessful attacks were made on Hermit Thrush, Wood Thrush ,and a Black-
throated Blue Warbler.
Good Birdng,
