Lydia Schindler and I looked for roadside driven birds in Montgomery
this morning. Among the scads of cardinals, White-Throated and Song
Sparrows, DE Juncos highlights along Sugarland/Hughes Rds included
Eastern Meadowlark (1), Rusty Blackbird (1), American Pipit (1), a
couple Fox and Savannah Sparrows, Field Sparrow (1) and 8 White-crowned
Sparrows. Near the polo ground horse pens there 15 or so Horned Larks.
Up River Rd near the Patton Turf farm highlights included a flock of 6
Wild Turkey and a Hermit Thrush but a hoped for large flock of Horned
Larks with maybe an embedded longspur did not materialize.
