Best birds of the morning were 6 Common Mergansers (all female) and 1 juvenile Bald Eagle who has mastered ice-walking. One half of the water at the "flats" remains frozen.

The only other ducks present were Blacks, about 20 and Mallards 30. They were tucked into the flooded woods and made counting difficult.
