Greetings folks,

This afternoon at Sandy Point, I observed one SNOW GOOSE, alone on the
Northern edge of the park enjoying the grass. This goose has been at
the park since the 27th. Please forgive my delay in posting, but
yesterday was my son's 2nd birthday and I was involved with parties
and celebrating. Also of note at Sandy Point: just off the biggest
jetty on the Northern edge of the park, 53 BONAPARTE'S GULLS were
foraging in the breakwater. Despite all of my best efforts, I did NOT
discover a Little Gull within the meandering mess of Bonies.

Later today at Thomas Point (between 3:30-5PM), I got my long-awaited
look at an Anne Arundel BROWN PELICAN. The pelican was gliding
effortlessly low over the water, despite the stiff winds, down the
central part of the Bay just to the South of the point. Chris Murray
and I spent hours this morning scanning the Bay, through both blinding
glare and fierce, freezing winds, in search of those recently-reported
lingering Pelicans. I am still thawing out. Also of note today at
Thomas Point were approximately 450 SURF SCOTER, several dozen
CANVASBACK and 2 REDHEADS (on the Northern edge of the park, working
the shoreline of the community to the North, the name of which I can't
recollect).

Good Birding,
