I too searched for Great Oak Pond and went to the end of Handy Point Rd.(?).  There I met a local who said that Stavely Pond is now a marshy area and no longer a pond.  He also pointed out Great Oak Pond-I had been there earlier in the day and didn't realize it.  And the Sandhill Crane wasn't there anyway.  Rats.
