Please join the Cecil Bird Club for our meeting on Wednesday, January 6, at
7 p.m. in the North East Public Library. Our guest speaker is DOS
Conservation Committee Chair Bill Stewart, who will present "The State of
the Birds 2009/2010 Address":

Are the world bird populations plummeting? Loss of habitat, unabated
development, climate change, and overpopulation are having enormous effects
on bird species in every corner of the world. Find out the results of the
most recent reports and how our North American species are coping with huge
environmental changes!

Bill has been an active birder for over 32 years. He is founder and
organizer for the Delaware Bird-a-thon, a major fund raiser for the
acquisition of migrating shorebird habitat; founder of the Wilmington
Peregrine Webcam Project; Co-Director of the Delaware Dunlins Youth Birders;
member of the Delaware Birding Trail design committee and 2009 Conservation
Award recipient from the Delaware Nature Society.

The library is located one block west of the intersection of Maryland Route
272 and Route 7, at the town's only traffic light. The Pier One Restaurant
is on the corner of this intersection and is a good place for dinner before
the meeting. Please park behind the library and enter through the back door.
Light refreshments will be provided.

We hope to see you there!
