Dear All

I did a quick tour of Tidal Basin, Anacostia etc this morning. Nothing major to report but the following of note.

Tidal Basin - zero roosting gulls, 80% ice, 600+ Canada Geese

Anacostia - Continuing birds were 3 Orange-crowned Warblers in the same spot, 1 near adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Peregrine, 1 Cackling Goose (a pale grey adult with v small bill - I think the same bird as Frank H and I saw two weeks ago but different from the one Paul P found) amongst 550+ Canadas; plus 4 Common Mergansers and 1 Northern Harrier .

Hains Pt - 400 Lesser Scaup, 500+ Canada Geese.

And with another 250 Canadas on the Potomac I think it's fair to say that there's been an influx of them with probably 2,000 or so in the area.

Over and out
