Hi all,

I swung by Depot Pond on the way home from work today, there were very few
gulls around, so I went to the Western access point (thanks Danny for
showing it to me!!) to sort through the group of Canada Geese there; nearly
as soon as I started scoping, I came across one CACKLING GOOSE, then another
and another until I counted 8 in a fairly tight group among the Canadas, one
had a complete white collar at the base of its neck, but before I could get
a good look at structure, they were all up and flying off towards Jug Bay,
the ones I was able to get decent looks at were consistent with
Richardson's. My favorite part of the whole thing was getting to hear the
lilliputian geese calling to each other as the flock took off. Hopefully,
they'll be back tomorrow for extended study!
