A Cackling Goose, probably the same one that others have seen from
time to time in West or East Potomac Parks, District of Columbia, was
with a flock of several hundred Canada Geese this morning, January 9,
on the extreme north part of the Hains Point golf course.

An Orange-crowned Warbler and a Ruby-crowned Kinglet were spotted in
the same area of Anacostia Park as previously reported by several
birders. There was an adult winter Lesser Black-backed Gull on the
iced up Anacostia River, sitting in with Greater Black-backed and
Herring Gulls. Another gull looked suspiciously like a 1st winter
Lesser Black-backed, but it was too far away for me to be certain.
