After getting great looks at the LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE this morning, I headed to
Oland Rd to try to find the previously reported Lapland Longspurs. When I
arrived, the Horned Lark flock was just northwest of the intersection of
Oland Rd and Rt. 85. Before I had a chance to get out my scope, they took
flight and landed on the northeast side of that same intersection, about 450
m east on Oland Rd. This time the flock of about 150 HORNED LARKS nestled in
and let me sort through them. I was fortunate enough to find 3 LAPLAND
LONGSPURS (1 male, 2 female types) within this flock before they took flight
again. Also, along Rt. 85 were 7 TUNDRA SWANS.

Cheers,

David
