Maren Gimpel and I ventured west today to try for the Loggerhead Shrike and bird around Washington and Frederick counties neither of which I had ever stepped foot in before. We found the LOSH perched atop trees along the edge of the barbed wire fence at 1050ish, unfortunately we didn't get to watch it too long before it disappeared. We made a few stops along the C & O canal, Lilypons and drove up Sugar Loaf Mtn. We didn't find anything out of the ordinary but did enjoyed the birding. Our last stop of the day was at Little Seneca Lake on the way home, where we found what seemed to be good numbers of waterfowl. The complete list is below.
