Greetings,

While my kids played a tthe park on monday, the 18th, I spent an hour scanning the gull flock which rested on the ice at the head of the North East River.

The flock numbered around 1000 and mostly was located at the mouth of the North East Creek. A smaller number of gulls sat further away near the North East Isle community. As expected, the majority of the gulls were Ring-billed with near equal number of Herring and Great Black-backed mixed in. I found no white-winged variety, but did find at least three adult Lesser Black-backed Gulls on one pass. Later, I found another lone Lesser Black-backed Gull but could not verify if it was a fourth bird or just on of the original three.

There was also a hundred Canada Geese in the field grazing.
