This morning (1/16) I saw was two Brown Thrashers and two immature White-crowned Sparrows along Florence Road, about 50 yards south of its intersection with Shaffersville Road in western Howard County. The birds were foraging around a large pile of wood chips filling a depression below the road embankment on the right side going south. There were several White- throated and Song Sparrows in the same area. I also counted five Horned Larks in a cornfield along Mullinex Mill Road just south of Florence Road.
