Inspired by Tyler and Jane's experience the other day, we went to Lloyd Bowen Road this morning and found many of the same birds, including 8 HORNED LARKS, 5 FOX SPARROWS, and 2 SAVANNAH SPARROWS. We also heard 2 BROWN-HEADED NUTHATCHES and saw 5 BROWN THRASHERS and 2 HERMIT THRUSHES.

There were 13 HORNED LARKS on Turner Road (still Calvert) working on large piles of dark brown matter (manure?) in an otherwise completely snow-covered field.

At Point Lookout State Park this afternoon, we saw 2 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS, 3 FOX SPARROWS, 1 HERMIT THRUSH, and 1 AMERICAN PIPIT, and heard at least 5 BROWN-HEADED NUTHATCHES. There were at least 30 SURF SCOTERS, 12 BLACK SCOTERS, and 1 WHITE-WINGED SCOTER.
