You are welcome to join the Baltimore Bird Club's lecture series on
Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:00 pm. This month Joan Cwi will present Dan
Viens documentary film "On the Wing" about the celebrated migration of
the west coast Vaux's Swifts at the Chapman Elementary School in
Portland Oregon. The film is a colorful tapestry of human and avian
life and full of information about swifts. The film will be followed
by a discussion comparing the Vaux's Swifts with its close cousin, our
east coast Chimney Swift, and ends with a short video showing the BBC
version of Chapman's swift experience.

Directions: This BBC lecture, and all lectures that follow, will be
held at the new lecture hall which is now available to us at the
Cylburn Arboretum Greenhouse. At the moment, the only entrance to the
Arboretum is via Cylburn Avenue (not Greenspring Avenue), as follows:
From I-83 take the Northern Parkway Exit West. After getting onto
Northern Parkway quickly move into the left lane as Cylburn Avenue is
the first left (approximately 0.2 miles). Continue another 0.2 miles
on Cylburn Avenue and turn left into the the Arboretum entry. Once on
the Arboretum grounds, bear left until you come to the Greenhouse and
park in that parking area. The lecture hall is off the Greenhouse
entryway.
