Hi --

Does anyone have a feel for how well these early swallows do in this kinds
of rough weather conditions we're experiencing now?

I ask because years ago in Maine, a long period of cold and wet weather in
late May killed 1000s of swallows, although most of the affected birds were
Barn Swallows. Biologists determined that the birds had starved as insect
prey was essentially unavailable for over a week.
