Hi again,

In all my excitement about the Sandhill, I forgot to post info on my later ventures. I stopped by Violettes Lock and scoped the Potomac. The river was smooth, but flowing fast. In the middle of the river, closer to the Va side were a large raft of mixed duck species, including
American Widgeon, Redhead, Ring necked, Northern Pintail, Buffleheads, Common Merganser and Scaup. sp.
the lighting was bad.  Saw  1 Great Blue Heron, Turkey & Black Vultures and one Double crested Cormorant.
