sandhill crane no; ducks in Seneca Lake

We looked for the Sandhill Crane on and off from about 3:00pm till sunset.  
Two people associated with the facility said it had been seen yesterday 
evening,  and one showed us the spot on Club Hollow Road described by John.
 
A guard said we were not allowed to use telescopes, we were not allowed to  
use binoculars, and we basically weren't supposed to be there  (between 
Elmer School Road and the fence - sorry if this was posted  before and we 
missed it). But he was very friendly. 
 
We had stopped at Seneca Lake on the way. We didn't want to spend  much 
time there and only roughly estimated numbers of individuals, but  there was a 
nice collection of ducks, listed below.
