HI Everybody:

I was not able to get out birding early today but since it was so nice out I spent from midafternoon on in Prince Georges County driving through Jug Bay and then the wildlife loop over to Merkle. At the boat ramp area below the Jug Bay visitor's center I had a huge flock of N. PINTAIL fly over both P.G. and A.A. counties and then land on the river. I counted 226 in this particular flock along with one each Amer. Wigeon and Gadwall and then slightly further downstream I counted another 198. This is by far the most N. Pintail I have ever seen at one time in MD. As I worked my way along Jug Bay and then at several sights along the wildlife loop to Merkle I counted an additional 60 N. Pintail. There were 2 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS singing near the wooden bridge.
