Hi folks I made a late afternoon visit to Wye Island mainly to check on the old Holly Tree after all the snow and winds of Feb . As of the a week ago the dirt road portion was closed to car traffic due to mud . I know a number of folks were wondering about it .
Considering the heavy Snows and winds it made out fairly well one medium size limb did brake out in the back of the tree as you walk up to it on the path .Also enjoyed a very nice sunset .

Birds seen or heard most numbers are estimated

Great Blue Heron 3
Canvasback 20
Bufflehead 6
Lesser Scaup 8
Ruddy Duck 300
Mallard 8
Ring Necked Duck 1 drake
Canada Goose 300
Ring Billed Gull 100
Barred Owl 1 flew up from the roadside
Robin 25
Mockingbird 2

Happy Birding
