I went to Southwest Area Park this morning to see/here American Woodcocks
and heard five display flights and a dramatic AMWO chase that lasted seven
seconds. I could here "peenting" as soon as I stepped out of the car at the
Light Rail station at 5:45. The last display was at 5:58. I listed 7 AMWO
then birded until 7:30.
Other highlights included: a single Green-winged Teal; three Wood Duck; a
lone Purple Finch; a Swamp Sparrow and a Savannah Sparrow.
