I've always wondered how to pronounce that name. (Nice Bridge) It's good to know.

County listers who look for Rock Pigeons in Calvert used to go under the Thomas Johnson
bridge.  A peregrine hanging around changed the pigeon's little minds; now you have to drive into the Asbury Retirement Center (Opposite the Shopping Center in Solomons with Food Lion etc.)

and drive around the large building, looking at its roof.

Not only county listers but plain old May counts, etc., require the location of these rare birds!  I visit them regularly....

Cliff, et al.:

When I last played the "County Listing" game, several years ago, your realize that it really puts you in closer tune with habitat considerations.

If you want Rock Pigeons (let's use the correct name, please!) ... find the largest bridges in the county (first priority) ... or major underpasses (second priority).

Harry Nice Bridge over the Potomac at Rt 301?

(BTW, my mother, a long-time southern Maryland resident, tells me it's pronounced NEECE ... not NICE ... the Governor's family was French!)
