The Voice of the Naturalist just rec'd a report of a Swainson's Hawk circling over the mall that I thought should be posted to MDOSPREY.

The report dated today at 4:32 pm stated:
"Not sure if this will get to anyone who can get the word out, but I just saw a light-morph Swanson's Hawk circling the National Mall from the south entrance to the Natural History Museum. After a few minutes, she (enormous bird, probably a female) bee-lined WNW. I am a trained hawkwatcher, having led two eastern hawkwatches in the past. I am 100% confident in my ID.
