Well, I finally saw my first Osprey of 2010.  I have been looking whenever around water since the beginning of the month.  But, it was the Ruddy Ducks in the cove outside my Mom's window (on Trippe Creek, near Oxford) that showed me my first Osprey.  There were well over 100 ducks peacefully cruising around the cove, diving leisurely, when all of a sudden, I saw unusually high splashes from groups of them as they dove deep in unison.  Looking-up, I spotted the Osprey hovering above.  Within an hour, the Ruddies had all departed.  They had been there for more than two weeks, so I am assuming that the Osprey just arrived.  It usually fishes the cove until departing in September.  I guess it is officially "bird spring" now.
