Hi Jim, et al.
I asked Greg about this and he told me that he has casually discussed
the issue of "ornithological accuracy" with the director, but, as
others have noted, when it comes to Hollywood, who can predict what
will happen? ... we can only hope!
Reminds me of a story ... Years ago my wife, Barbara, and I owned one
of those Wild Bird-type stores. We got some advance notice that
Hollywood was going to film a sequel to Hitchcock's " set in coastal
North Carolina. Wow! How cool! Well, we became casual intermediaries
and relayed some production status and information to the birding
community as the project progressed. When the movie was done it went
to cable (that should have been a hint!). We forwarded and hyped all
of the information on the schedule and time of it's airing. Well ...
it turned out to be the worst movie I have ever seen, birds or no
birds! Was I ever embarrassed! So, when it comes to Hollywood, caveat emptor!
Thanks.
Phil
