Hi all --
Barry and I enjoyed great views of the Tufted Duck mid-morning. We then went
over to the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (Horsehead) in Grasonville
to look for Brown-headed Nuthatches and had a very pleasant walk there along
the Marsh Trail. Saw a couple of pairs of nuthatches (one entering and
remaining within a probable nest hole) and about 8 bright Pine Warblers,
many singing. A Phoebe also showed well. Lots of Tree Swallows as well over
the marsh.
Quite a few ducks on the Bay and in the CBEC pond: Green-winged Teal, Am.
Wigeon, Mallard, Black Duck, Pintail, Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked Duck,
Canvasback, Bufflehead, many many Ruddy Ducks.
All in all, a great day to be out!
