Our Sunday adventure started in Bowie MD at Dorothy Paugh's feeder at
3912 Wakefield Lane, Bowie, MD 20715. The male PAINTED BUNTING came
in shortly after 8:30am and stayed for a while, hanging out mostly in
the brambles of the backyard behind the abandoned house at 3910.
Dorothy says that birders can now come anytime they wish WITHOUT
APPOINTMENT - without calling or writing in advance. Now that the
snow is gone, there is plenty of room to park....Also, there are
apparently chairs set up behind 3910 for birders to sit and wait. We
left around 9am.

Next we went straight to Kent Narrows, where the male TUFTED DUCK put
on a show along with two groups of diving scaup. Even the tuft was
visible once it shook off from its dives.

Then we continued onto the Chesapeake Environmental Center at
Horsehead, where we had:
Pine Warbler- 1
Brown-headed Nuthatch, 2 pairs and 1 on ground drinking
Tree Swallow
Eastern Phoebe
Osprey
Bald Eagle
Ruddy Duck
Canvasback
scaup sp.
Mallard
Black Duck
Mallard X Black Duck hybrid (2 birds, one of which had very pale cheeks)
American Wigeon-1
Green-winged Teal
Carolina Chickadee
Carolina Wren
Northern Flicker
Red-winged Blackbird
