This morning, while Linda Friedland and I were checking out early wildflowers (already half a dozen sprouting), a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH sang 5 or 6 times. This was about 9:15, a short way downstream from the Lock, at a point where two large trees, one from each side, have fallen into the canal.
Also, 4 BONAPARTE'S GULLS on the river--and a couple of glimpses of a smallish-looking cormorant.
