Robert Ake of Norfolk, VA, asked me to post his report, below, of the
male Tufted Duck continuing in the cove by the Holiday Inn Express,
Kent Narrows, in Queen Anne's County. The report is from the morning
of Thursday, March 25.

Bob is doing a "Big Year" in the ABA area this year, and we are happy
that a Virginian has been able to get one of his really good birds in
The Free State of Maryland. The URL for his Big Year blog is given below.

Bob's report follows:

Mike, We got the Tufted Duck yesterday a bit after 10am. It was
swimming with the mixed scaup group. The initial sighting was
directly into the morning sun. So we moved around along the access
road to where the angle was much better. I got a few pictures. Tufty
was diving a lot and when not diving was preening. See the blog for
the two pics I posted. Feel free to post this info to MDOsprey if you wish.
    Thanks for your help.
