The male Painted Bunting is still coming at intervals to the Paugh
family's feeder on Wakefield Lane in Bowie. We saw it this morning,
March 27, at around 10 a.m. Dorothy Paugh says it is most regular
early in the day and later in the afternoon, but can disappear for
hours in the middle of the day. It comes to a feeder with millet,
which she says is its favorite food. It is noticeably "twitchy" and
will not come to the feeder when Cowbirds are around.

Many thanks to the Paughs for hosting this splendid visitor from the South.
