This is a late report from Friday afternoon (3/19), when I saw a hybrid American / European (Common) Green-winged Teal at Oxbow while unsuccessfully looking for the Pectoral Sandpiper reported earlier in the week.   Jim Brighton and I didn't see the hybrid teal yesterday morning.

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Oxbow Lake: RUSTY BLACKBIRD, WILSON'S SNIPE

Highlights from yesterday morning at the Little Patuxent Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve:

5 RUSTY BLACKBIRD
15 WILSON'S SNIPE
1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS

If you happen to go looking for RUSTY BLACKBIRD, I'd suggest first looking in the northeast corner early in the morning - when I saw them I was standing at lake level and they were just to my left along the shoreline.

Location:    Oxbow Lake
Observation date:    3/21/10
Notes:    Jay Sheppard and I met down at the Little Patuxent Oxbow Lake Nature
Preserve. I had 5 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS one day after Ira Simon captured a picture of one.
