Yesterday, I was coming back from shad fishing at Porters Crossing and decided to drive down Pocomoke River Rd. when I reached the intersection of Somerset Rd and Clearfield Dr ( last years Eurasian Collared- Dove spot) I noticed a large dove perched on the telephone wire. I stopped my car to get a better look when it flew off . I looked up at the dove I noticed the large banded tail and the I heard the call that was similar to a Barred Owl's call . There was no mistaking that the Eurasian Collared- Doves have returned. I turned around and was met by the other one flying toward my car, landing on the closest tree, and started cooing. To bad my battery died on my camera. While watching the two doves I noticed some odd behavior. One of the doves started chasing the Morning Doves off a tree, claming the tree to be his. I'm glad to see that they are back.
